This is a summary of the ka-Bloom rules. Please see the post below for an explanation of each item.

• No gossip or discussion of Orlando's personal life
• No paparazzi pictures

• No fanfiction
• No discussion of politics or religion
• No links to MySpace, LiveJournals etc or blogs

• You must be 17 years old to register

• Please post in sentences with a capital letter at the beginning and an appropriate punctuation mark (and only one) at the end

The ka-Bloom forum is intended not only to support and celebrate the work of our favorite actor, but also to be a place for mature fans to come together in an environment that is respectful not only to Orlando Bloom but to each other.

No gossip or discussion of Orlando's personal life
We discuss his career, projects, charitable causes - and anything he cares to talk about. And what he tends not to talk about is his private life.

No paparazzi pictures
In the same vein, no paparazzi pictures, or links to sites with paparazzi pictures. It's a downside of celebrity, but when Orlando is on his personal time, it should remain personal.

No flaming
Flaming is being intentionally hostile or insulting to members of this community or anyone else, for that matter. Please treat others with respect.

No hotlinking
Hotlinking is when you directly link an image/page from another site, from their webspace, stealing their bandwidth. We do not allow hotlinking, either from this board, or when posting images here from another site.

No fanfiction
There are plenty of places that you can go to share and discuss fanfiction, but this isn't one of them.

No discussion of politics or religion
Not that there’s anything wrong with either, but discussions on these subjects can easily get very heated and people can get upset and hurt. A fan forum is not the place for such debates. We do, however, believe that the environment and global warming are apolitical, and these are issues which Orlando is passionate about. If you don't agree with issues concerning these, then it's probably best that you avoid the relevant threads.

No links to MySpace, LiveJournals etc or blogs
We do not, and cannot, monitor all of their content, and many of them contain paparazzi pictures, gossip, or fanfiction.

You must be 17 years old to register
We understand that many under-17s are very responsible and thoughtful individuals, but this community is intended for fans who may have fond memories of high school, but no real desire to relive it. If you are under 17, you are welcome to browse the forums as a guest. There are many other communities on the internet more suited to young posters.
If we find out you are under 17 (or even give us reason to believe that you are), you will be made non-posting.
COPPA Disclaimer:
In compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998, ka-Bloom does not knowingly collect, maintain or use personal information from our website about children under age 13. If a child whom we know to be under age 13 sends personal information to us online, we will only use that information to respond directly to that child and advise them that they are below the age requirements for registration as a member of this forum.

Certain usernames are not allowed
We approve all registrations and will send you an e-mail if the username you've chosen is unacceptable. Further details are in the list of unavailable names.

No netspeak
You may be used to telling your mates that something is “gr8” when you text them, but please don’t use such abbreviations on the forum. It makes your post extremely difficult to read for members who are not used to such a language. The ka-Bloom moderators all fall into this category!
Also, please don’t use acronyms, especially with the number of Board-specific ones around. It's hard enough to remember the important stuff like DBB and DYC without trying to figure out IMHO and OMG.

Please post in sentences with a capital letter at the beginning and an appropriate punctuation mark (and only one) at the end
Capitalization. Please use it at the beginning of a sentence and for proper nouns, which includes the names of people and countries. Please don't post in all capitals, and don't play with the caps lock, wHicH geTs REAlLY AnNoyinG after a bit.
We appreciate that as an internet forum we are unusual in requiring our members to use capitalization and punctuation. However, this has always been the style at ka-Bloom, and many of our members have joined this community specifically for this reason. If you prefer a free and easy posting style, then there are many other communities on the internet that are happy to accommodate you.

Personal photos may only be posted in the members only area
If you are over 18 years of age, and have a burning desire to do so, you may post pictures of yourself in the members only area. Personal pictures may not be posted anywhere else on the fourm, including in avatars and signatures.

Failure to comply with these rules could result in a warning, being moved to non-posting status, or being banned from the board altogether.

We reserve the right to make changes to these rules at any time (we will let you know by an announcement), effective immediately, as people seem to come up with something new every now and then that we don't believe is appropriate for the Board.
We do take all of these things seriously and repeated problems can lead to your becoming non-posting. You'll still be able to see the pictures and video, but will miss out on the chance to share with your fellow fans. If you do get a message from us that a post has been edited, please accept that it is meant to be constructive and helpful.
