Right. Well. As usual , it's been a bit frustrating with these clips. simodabo did the hard work and grabbed the video, then made the clips, and uploaded them so that I could download them, and they are wonderful. So clear - and even better if you speak Italian. However, I am having no luck in converting them or 'stitching' them together. I decided to go ahead and get QuickTime Pro (the clips are in MPEG-4 format), only to discover that the program doesn't work well with Windows XP. No.Audio. And I hate to go ahead and make clips only to find out that others can't hear it either. Judi may have better luck than I, but for now, I wanted you to be able to see his appearance in its entirety - I'd say, all told, it's around 10 minutes long? So for now, it's the original clips only, in high-quality MP4 format - and they are huge (averaging around 43Mb each). I'll add them as they are uploaded to the server, as hopefully we can edit with converted files. Part 1, Orlando shows up about halfway through; all of 2 and 3 are him, and a portion of Part 4. Simo has offered to do a rough translation for us, so maybe she can tell us what in the heck was wrong with the wacky guy at the end. PLOTZ ALERT: The ever-popular Orlando giggle included! Right click/save as. Festival di San Remo 2006High: Part 1Part 2Part 3Part 4 Simo, many thanks to you, again, darling. I hope the late dinner with hubby went well. (I can still be amazed - here we were, carrying on an IM conversation with someone on the other side of the world, uploaded clips that were on TV last night, so that others around the world can see them. Incredible.) ETA: I have edited and stitched into two parts and converted the files to real & windows media. ~ Jupiter Part One: Real Media 11.8mB Windows Media 13.0mB Part Two: Real Media 13.0mB Windows Media 14.4mB

Sigh. Just finished watching Parts 1 and 2. Can he be more gracious? And I think I heard some audience saying his name aloud in approval. I think Orlando won many fans in Italy that night. Thank you SO much, Simo and Jan. I am patiently waiting for Parts 3 and 4. ETA - Mamma, mamma mia! That KISS! 2nd ETA - Who is that guy with glasses? He annoyed me a bit, and I felt rather embarrassed for Orlando. And he was such a good sport. What a man!

Ciao! He said Ciao! If he had broken out into full blown Italian I would have had to die. No ifs, ands or buts about it. I love the Italian language. I think it's far more elegant and sexy than French. Aside from that, he's just too cute and sexy for his own good. Thanks Jan and Simonetta! You made my night. PS: I like the way he says that his heroes are the everyday people, and then he mentions the doctors and nurses who cared for him when he hurt his back. What an amazing man he is. How can you not love him? I'll be glad to see Simonetta's translation because it's difficult to hear Orlando over the translator. One last thing, I promise: Close up hand porn!!!!

Ahh, the Lace Flowers are in bloom. It must be high summer in Mirkwood. Thanks Ermina

Jan, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Number 1 is wonderful and I love it, but numbers two and three won't play for me. I downloaded them all the same way, but repeated attempts to make them play won't work. HELP! What am I doing wrong? I can play number 1 to my heart's content but not the rest. Beth 37

QUOTE (Jan @ Sat, Mar 4, 2006, 05:56 PM) Beth, I'm sorry, I don't know what could be wrong - they all played fine for me, and all I've done is upload them to our server, no changes at all.
Are you watching them with QuickTime? That's probably the best player to watch them with. And you may also want to try re-downloading them, as there could have been some glitch in the line that corrupted the file. Jan, I've tried downloading them several times, even rebooted the computer and all I get is a 3 or 4 second download of 28.7 mb. When I click on properties in the RP box it doesn't show any length at all. So something isn't getting here and I don't know why. I can't open it with Quicktime, it indicates it's 'not a movie file' when I try. I really hate to be a bother but perhaps someone else has had this problem and fixed it-or is facing the same frustration. I might have to wait until you can get it into another format, as this is clearly not working and I'm not computer savvy enough to know what to do. Thanks again for all that you've done to get us the pictures and videos. It's most likely a problem on my end but I'll be darned if I know what to do about it. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly! Beth 37

Beth37, it's not just you. I download a part, any part, and when "Done" finally appears, all I have is a blank screen. That doesn't usually happen when I try to view videos here. However, when it does, I just have to wait for a different version. Hopefully, there will be one of this clip eventually. Meantime, thanks, Jan, for working so hard to bring us the clip and all the plotz-worthy photos.

Many, many thanks to the ever-so-talented Charlie for my shining Prince!

Hi Jan: I just played video No. 4 and found it wouldn't play after about 5 seconds from the beginning when the Microsoft Error box came up. I rebooted to see if it made a difference and it didn't . it could be just a little glitch in that recording. I am very happy to have good copies of the most important bits but, I thought I should mention this as Beth37 was having trouble too. I am not worried about it and can certainly wait for an alternative version. Charlie

I have managed to get part 3 and 4 after a dozen or so tries on each. Number 2 still eludes me, but I've not given up yet! Remember to delete it from your drive after each failed attempt. Also, it seems to work better if all other programs are closed. So, no solitaire, just grab your knitting like I did. They are wonderful clips and are worth all the effort. He is just hysterical. I can't imagine having the gumption to do something like that. I'm sure the earpiece connects him to an interpreter, but it still has to be really hard. I loved it when he said, "What are you doing to me?". :lmao: Beth 37 who is worried that she's starting to understand the Italian!
