Just checking in on a rumour I just heard.(I might be late with this but I haven't heard it before.)

Has Orlando ever starred in the UK TV-show "Casualty"???

I've never heard him mention it in any interviews or nothing.I'm confused

:)

You know, I don't recall reading/hearing about it anywhere? But then again, it wouldn't surprise

me - he's a very busy boy?

It was as a question on some game site, can't remember where. As I didn't know anything about it I was quite surprise when I saw the anwser, something like.

"Orlando had a small role in one of the episodes in the UK show, "Casualty" in 1994. But his performance wasn't credited"

It's probably just a silly joke by someone because the other questions wasn't too correct. Like where he got his name from (Orlando Gibbons), the correct anwser would be Virginia Wolff's novel. One question was also about that German guy who claimed he was a friend of Orlando and that they had filmed to movies together (Deep Poll and one other)

So it's probably not true when I think about it.Sorry for taking up yoour time and space.. :)

Orlando did appear in an episode of Casualty in 1994.

Penny has scanned an article from The Daily Star on the OBM site today which mentions it and has a picture, although the article also includes some things which Orlando has not said.

He did state on one of the Graham Norton shows that he played a brief role as a self-mutilator on Casualty.

Moving this to TV...

"Blue Juice actress" is definitely one of the funniest mistakes so far :)

It was the first Graham Norton appearance in 2002, "So Graham Norton" where Graham was asking Orlando about the start of his carieer.

You can right-click and save the clip from here, it can take some time to load and it's originally from full-bloom.net. It's very funny!

I'm pretty sure "Blue Juice" is another surfing movie, and Ewan McGregor ( :censor: ) is in it.

I've never heard of this "Casualty" show before. Interesting :naughty:

They show it even here in Finland, every day 9am or something like that. The early seasons were pretty :notworthy: , I'm not sure if it's got any better. I think they're still doing it.

It's like a british version of ER but not as good. The funny thing is you can spot actors that have become much more famous afterwards. I saw one episode that had Kate Winslet or her sister (they look pretty much the same or at least used to look) in it. I remember one self-mutilator who had dark hair but who knows.those episodes were really old.

Not being funny here, but as Casualty has been around about twice as long as ER, I would say that ER is the US equivilent of Casualty

I think he is very cute in the picture but he does look different. I think maybe it is because he has grown into his nose a bit. He was only 17 in the picture but I really think he looks really really cute :naughty:.

Hello

I'm a newbie, I've been lurking for a while, but have the sudden urge to post on this thread as I think I remember seeing this episode of Casualty back in 1994.

Now I'm only 21 now, so I would have been 11 then - my memory may not be perfect in this respect. Please forgive me if it turns out that I hallucinated this.

I think that Orlando played a disturbed young man who self-mutilated because he'd been sexually assualted (can't remeber who by) and had never told anyone about it, until he told Charlie in the episode. Charlie was the sensitive senior nurse who got all the best scenes. Casualty was different from ER in that it was far more about the patients than the staff - each episode focused a lot more on the patients and why they ended up in hospital than ER does. There would be several scenes with the 'patients' before they were 'patients' - the trick was always to guess who was going to get hurt/sick, and how. Then you would see them interacting with the regular characters. So Orlando's role was probably more substantial than some of you might have thought. Having said that, the only scene I remeber was in the hospital, with Charlie, revealing the secret.

It stuck in my mind because I was impressed by the intensity of Orlando's acting - I remember being impressed at the time, I'm not saying that because I'm an Orlando fan now. Erm, if it is Orlando that I'm thinking of! (I'm pretty sure that it is, I don't have a great memory for faces, but I seem to remember impressive cheekbones, and the intensity was very Orlando-esque).

There have been quite a lot of famous actors guest starring in Casualty - Kate Winslet was in an episode, and a few others that are famous now but not when they were in it, so Orlando's in good company. Unfortunately the show has no been as good in recent years (in my opinion). After ER started it changed the format to become more like it - a real shame because as a British show it had a unique identity.

Wow, this has turned into a very long post. I hope I haven't bored anyone!

Kathryn.

I have always been interested in Orlando's appearance in Casualty, as I used to watch the show when I was younger. and think it's great that he starred in it.

Does anyone have any video clips of Orlando's part?

I'd love to see him in it.

You know, the lips just don't seem right.

I think the pic must be some kind of screen capture. It looks like he's in the middle of speaking. But I think he's awfully cute in it as well. Man, I would LOVE to be able to see this performance!

An article today at BBC.co.uk about many of today's stars starting out their careers on Casualty - so there's a brief mention of Orlando.
