I'm sitting in the theater waiting for the Hobbit marathon to start. H minus 50 minutes. So emotional about this journey. Can't wait for it to start, don't want it to end. See you on the other side.

What a great day I had yesterday. Seeing all three movies at once on the big imax screen made them all more meaningful. The third film is better than I even expected it to be. A very wonderful birthday experience. Highly recommend that you all go out and see BOFA asap.

I need to see it again before I can review it in any detail. Also don't want any spoilers.

'The Hobbit' Trilogy Extended Edition Coming to Theaters in October

The extended edition of Peter Jackson's epic trilogy will hit the big screen in October, marking the first time that the extended editions have ever been released in theatres.

Good news comes for the fans of epic trilogy "The Hobbit". Peter Jackson's adaptation will once again impress moviegoers as it will come to theaters this October in the extended edition.

It was Far Away Entertainment which first revealed plans for "The Hobbit" trilogy extended edition to get theatrical release. "Fathom Events and Warner Bros. are partnering to present the extended editions of all three Hobbit movies. Shown over three nights, the epic Peter Jackson trilogy will be the first time the extended editions have ever been released in theatres. Also included will be an exclusive introduction by director Peter Jackson. First night showing starts Monday, October 5th, 2015 at 7:30pm local. Tickets will be regular admission prices for each movie," reads the statement in the website.

The AMC 14 theaters in Tustin, California will be showing all three movies on October 5, October 7 and October 13 respectively. Under the title "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies Extended Edition", the show will begin at 7:30 P.M.. Other cinemas such as Celebration Cinema in Michigan will also participate to screen the movie, but they haven't announced the date just yet.

However, it is unclear whether the film will be screened in other cinemas on the same date with the AMC and if those three films will be shown in three straight days or spread out over the month of October. Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage, Luke Evans, Orlando Bloom, Evangeline Lilly and Lee Pace are several names who will appear in this October's extended version.

I doubt this will come to my town, but for those who get the extended edition theatrical release, go for it and enjoy.

Thanks, Rene, for bringing us the word.

Thanks Rene for bringing this interesting news. :2thumbs: I remember back in 2003 my Mom and I went to see the EE editions of FOTR and TTT in theaters and I'm pretty sure it was in anticipation of the theatrical release of ROTK rather than the EE DVD release. The theater that showed it was pretty far away as it was the next town over from where I live, but it was worth it. But if the same circumstances hold true for the Hobbit, I don't know if I can see them. I definitely can't if it's only nighttime showings. But I hope at least some of my fellow Ka-Bloomies get the chance to see it. At the very least, I'm highly anticipating getting the BOFA EE DVD when it comes out. :yahoo:

I would love to see the Extended Edition in the theater but I doubt it if will come to Revere or Danvers. But this most likely means that the BOFA EE Blu-Ray will be coming out soon! :yahoo:

Thank you Rene for this exciting information.

This looks fantastic!!! Thanks, Rene, for the video. It gave me chills. Sadly, the trilogy won't come to my theatre screens. I hope other fans will be luckier.
