I just got back from the movie and this is not going to be a review, but I really HAVE to tell you all: the movie is great!!!

I think you are gonna love it and Orlando IS beautiful and act beautifully.

I'm rambling, I know, but I'm both happy and excited and I have no one here to share my excitement with.

This is not a review. Just want to express my overwhelming applause to this movie and Orlando. I had the pleasure of seeing my first multiple viewings of the movie yesterday. It opened here 23rd. And It completely took my breath away! No words to describe it. I'm still in awe right now of how beautifully it's done. I could rave and rave forever. :yahoo:

Orlando is just so beautiful as always in this movie. There's this certain aura in him that I haven't yet seen in any of his movies. I know every true blue fan will feel the same way as they see the movie.

Great great performance! He has shown again many sides of him we haven't seen him before.

I can't wait to see it again this week! You're in a for a ride of your life! It's really a monster of a movie.

HAPPY PIRATING!

You lucky devils, Simo and Ryll in seeing the movie already. Thank you for your lovely posts, they are very encouraging indeed.

I have to wait until Saturday to see the movie and that will only happen if the day goes as it should (have an early morning dental appointment with a possible problematic wisdom tooth). Of course, if I have to go on a stretcher . I will  .

Keep them coming, friends! :cheer: I have to wait until Sunday to see it. When I went to buy the ticket at El Captaine Theatre, the tickets were completely sold out until Sunday, and I barely managed to get one for 11:45PM showing ( EEK! ). I just can't wait! :comeon:

Hey, last year I walked the plank and confessed I wasn't pleased with DMC as a whole, but I thought Orlando's acting reached a new level of confident maturity.

I hope that is what I shall see again this year, well, I hope I love this flick but I know Orlando will kick butt and take names. It's a Noo Jersey thang. :2thumbs:

Thanks for your reactions, ladies!

I'll join in the rambling. The movie was excellent, so awsome!

I want to dicuss some bits of the movie, but I don't want to spoil it for those who haven't seen it, on the board or my friends- driving me batty, I need to talk!

I loved most of it, but 1 event peed me off, not what I wanted to happen, although I have a solution that takes care of it (in the imaginary world in my mind).

Remember to take your tissues for the tears and drool :kablaam: .

I have just got back from the cinema and all I can say at the moment is WOW. It is a fantastic film, I can't review it because I would not be able to do it justice. You have to see it. Take tissues, you will laugh and (dare I say it) cry! One thing, if you can, stay to the end of the credits, there's a little bit extra right at the very end. I walked out of the cinema with a big smile on my face.

OH MY GOD!. :cheer: Words can't describe how brilliant this film is. I laughed, I cried and I damn near wet myself 'cos it's so looong! I probably won't make much sense, but after you've seen the film I'm sure you'll understand. We had tickets for 11am and got there early. I think the guy who opened the door to our theater thought I was slightly mad for wanting to go in and find a seat 45 mins before the showing. I needed a good view! There were a few young girls dressed as Pirates. Bandanas, boots, belts etc. They were so cute. The girl I sat next to in the Cinema had been to the London Premiere last year and had got Orlando and Johnny's autographs. It was nice to have someone to squee with before and during the film. Hubby came with me but I can't squee with him, can I?! It's a girl thing.

I can't say too much for fear of spoilers, but it's fantastic finally seeing the screen caps and production photo's play out. The Wet!Will bath house scene is divine. :hott: Orlando is fantastic throughout. He looks so hot in the bandana. And his facial expressions and his deep, dark, gorgeous brown eyes just make me Melt In The Middle. (That's where my name comes from, ). Did I mention Orlando was hot? I just love Barbaossa. Pintell and Ragetti were great. They all have their own thing going on. The fight scenes and maelstrom were amazing. Just amazing. I was on the edge of my seat. The music had me tingling all over. It was great to find out the conclusion of Will and Elizabeth, and Will and Bootstrap. Something I couldn't have dreamt up in all my wildest dreams. The scenes with Elizabeth and Will including the forehead to forehead screencap in our countdown are just out of this world.

I made it about 2hrs 35 mins with 9-10 mins of credits at the end before you get to the last tiny bit. So worth staying for and I can't wait til we've all seen it and can talk about it properly!

I'm sorry if this is a bit stilted and choppy but I'm feeling slightly stunned! I can't wait to see it again. I'd have gone back in to the next showing if Hubby had let me! It's brilliant, brilliant, brilliant.

Thanks for letting me share this with you. Sam xx

ETA: Just day dreaming about the film in the kitchen I suddenly realised I haven't mentioned Johnny or Keith! Doh! Keith is really good, I wasn't sure what I expected of him, but it was great. And his scenes are longer than I would have imagined according to other reviews. Johnny is Johnny. Just fantastic. Capt. Jack was made to be played by him. The film does tie up a lot of loose ends but it also opens other doors, so I wouldn't bet against Pirates 4 or a spin off with some of the characters. I'd go see them.

Gonna go now, I seem to have verbal diarrhoea!

I've seen it as well, and to avoid spoilers let me say that I love how the story arc of Will's character ends.

Also, if you ignore all the Sturm und Drang, it's a very well-structured, symmetrical movie. Which I hope makes sense, because I'm typing this while being very, very sleepy. :lmao:

I guess I will elaborate when everybody else has seen it. :shiny:

Sigh. I too have to wait until Saturday :blow: . I'd so love to go tonight, but I have to work tomorrow and nighttime movie prices are too steep. Thanks for all of the reviews ladies, though it does just make me more rabid to see it.

Just got back, literally minutes ago, so here is my review.

It is utterly fantastically brilliant. Honestly go and see it as fast as you can. I thought it started a little bit slowly but that is the only negative thing I would say. The ending is-I've run out of decent words to use!-brilliant to. I couldn't hope for a better, well rounded off, emotionally charged and thought out ending to the trilogy. The music too is definitely worth a mention and it goes without saying that Orlando, Johnny, Keira and everyone were brilliant in it.

One warning, keep your wits about you right from the start. Enjoy! :cheer:

Yes,you definitely need your wits about you to follow the machinations of the plot, as Dierdre said, but I had a great time folowing it, let me tell you!

I have to say that the cinematography was outstanding--and not just when the screen was filled with Orlando's beautiful face :faint:

My cinema had a ten minute break after the 2hr mark which spoiled the viewing slightly.I sat through all three LOTR movies without one but I suppose the little ones need the bathroom

I loved the darker characters, Tia Dalma's change and the most heart-stopping moment in the film had me gulping(you know which moment I mean :O ) but I can't wait to see it all again tomorrow.

BTW--everybody HAS to stay to see the little extra at the end. It's very sweet.

I have tickets for the midnight show tonight and I am so stoked just from reading all your comments that I can't stand it! I'll be going again tomorrow with a couple of local ka-Bloomies too. Hopefully I'll still have my wits about me at 3am and will be able to at least tell you how heart pumpingly good it is.

Don't blink, don't get up to use the restroom or get some snacks! You will miss something if you do!

Fantastic movie from start to finish and while the writers have said they think this is Elizabeth's movie, I think it was Will's from start to finish. His progression through the three films is nothing less than amazing and he doesn't disappoint here.

I'm assuming if you're reading this thread you've seen the movie so I'll say the wedding scene, the beach scene and the after credits scent was lovely.

Heartwrenching when he dies, but his return as the COTFD is magnificent to say the least!

It really was an amazing film. Although I have to admit it had it's tear jerker moments. I'm a softee so of course I was crying. I'm not sure how I feel about the ending.

But as I said it really is a great film and Orlando truly shined. He got to show his humorous side a bit. I really enjoyed the laugh out loud parts. I was in a full theater for the first show tonight. Everyone was laughing at appropriate times and there was even applause at the end. Quite a crowd stayed for the end of credits surprise. I always feel like I'm in on a big secret when I sit there while everyone else gets up and leaves.

Orlando, Johnny and Keira were amazing. I don't think I can imagine a better trio.

Beautiful, powerful, unbelievable, gut-wrenching, funny.the best of the trilogy! I am still in a bit of a shock and need time to reflect and at least one more viewing (noon tomorrow) before I say too much. This is definitely Will's story. Ahhh, got to see it again and again. Absolutely DO NOT get up and leave for any reason near the end,and wait for the end of the credits. And I cannot wait until the DVD comes out and we can get screen caps of scenes near the end!

Edit: I have to add that I was in an audience of 600 who clapped, laughed, hooted, yelled, and throughly enjoyed this movie. It was a lot of fun being with such an appreciative group. It was much like being with ka-bloomies. There were two more shows (11:15 and 11:30) about to start as we were leaving.and the parking lot was packed. Whoo-hoo!

It's after midnight here, and I just returned from my first viewing (the first of 4 this weekend!), and I needed to pop in here and give my opinion.

Wow, that's all I can say, just Wow! What I liked best was the fact that this movie could at once be epic and intimate, larger than life and yet connect with each audience member on a personal level. The acting was brilliant (there was actually applause when Keith Richards appeared for the first time), and the special effects were fabulous. I loved the fact that the main characters were more fleshed out and given such amazing twists and turns in the plot. I won't say any more because I don't want to spoil anything, but this is definitely a movie that will warrant and deserve multiple viewings on the big screen. I think Gore and co. have rounded out the trilogy nicely, and tied up the loose ends. This movie is fantastic, purely, simply, fantastic!

Now to count the hours until I can see it again.:)
