POTC: At World's End Soundtrack

Recommended Posts

I have my copy too!

These are my favourties:-

UP IS DOWN is brilliant, it makes me smile when I listen to it because I bet they had so much fun filming that scene!

I DON'T THINK NOW IS THE BEST TIME is also a favourtie because it includes that fantastic wedding. It also makes me cry because of Will's departure from one world to another.

ONE DAY , I have to be careful when listening to that one on the bus travelling to work. I agree with both of you Leia and McJules , it always sets off the waterworks! :blow:

My last favourite is DRINK UP ME HEARTIES , just because it brings back memories of one fantastic film.

Ok, now it's time to go flip through that booklet again!

Yeah, I'm beginning to wonder about that booklet too. I'm gonna buy the cd when I have the time, but for now I have to settle for the copy my cousin made for me (without the booklet!).

I bet there are a few fantastic shots of Will in it..

Any of you happy owners of the soundtrack and 'that booklet' have a scanner?

Pretty please?

I'm not at home at the moment but when I get a chance, I could try to scan the booklet. Oh by the way for anyone who's interested (and maybe you already know) there's a 2008 calendar out for POTC 3.

I have been listening to the soundtrack a lot as well. At first, I wasn't sure I liked it as much as the other two, but now it has a place right up there. (I am a runner and selections from the first two sountracks are shuffled on my iPod just for my workouts.)

I'd list Up is Down as one of my favorites. (Although I wonder if I am the only person who always thinks of that 70's song by Hues Corporation when the line "he's rocking the ship" is uttered. ) I also love Drink Up Me Hearties because it takes the best of all three soundtracks and mixes it together into one amazing song. The whole soundtrack is great really. Not a bad one in the bunch.

I am just happy that they didn't try to use some electronica/dance remixes as filler this time around, but I would have liked to have the full version of "Hoist the Colors."

The photos of Will in the booklet are production photos we've seen before with one exception. The one of Bill Nighy standing in the bucket with his "grey pajamas" on is just .

I bought the soundtrack simply because it was from AWE. At first, it didn't resemble anything POTC related. It's definitely less spirited than COTBP and DMC. But now, it's so easy to listen to. You can hear the passion, with a few splashes of fun.

And the booklet was a definite bonus. I loved the story of how "Hoist The Colours" came about. It sounds so authentic, but it's a new song.

lafemme, thanks for the heads up about the calendar. I'll have to keep an eye out for it later this year.

Lauren, those are my favorites too. I also love Singapore and At Wit's End.

There's a calendar?*runs off looking for the calendar*

I'm still getting the same type of thing. To be more specific, it keeps wanting me to add a .NET passport something to my windows XP account and when I click cancel, it just takes me to a MSN log in page. Looks like they're wanting my information or something to see the pics. :beatsme:

I got my copy (actually, my daughter's copy) of the AWE soundtrack yesterday, and swooned upon hearing the music to "One Day"! :2thumbs: It brought back so vividly the scenes on the beach - OMG, :hott: . That is going to be my favorite part of this soundtrack, I may wear it out !

I got the soundtrack for my son about a week ago. I love all the songs on there. Today we went to see AWE again and after listening to the cd multiple times this week the music in the scenes stood out a lot more. (It is the only thing that has been played in the car since we got it and he brings the cd in the house when we get home to listen to it as well. For example like right now :) ) I was really aware of the music this time and now listening to it at home I can place the scenes better and I like it.

Ok I have removed the link from the post.

I told you I was crap at this sort of thing. Maybe someone else would like to upload scans.

You can throw tomatoes at me if you like. :tomato: (But only if you let me listen to "One Day" while your doing it.

Nah.I'd hate to waste the tomatoes after going shopping. :teehee: I have a photobucket account and so let me try to scan them today and then post them later today. The photobucket posting is the easy part. The scanning is just what takes a bit of time.

You know, the more I listen to this soundtrack, the more I find it not only the best of the trilogy but also one of the best soundtracks EVER.

Back when COTBP came out, I found the soundtrack very amusing, very upbeat and perfectly suitable for the movie. In my opinion, there was only one thing missing: a love theme. Every possible movie that has a romance in it, has a love theme on the soundtrack somehow. Even the Bond-movies always have one! It was something that really surprised me. I mean, the first Pirates film was kind of a traditional action/adventure movie with your typical romance in it (and I'm not saying that's a bad thing, really I don't, the movie was unique in so many other ways).

Then, with DMC, I didn't expect any love themes or quieter pieces of music, since there weren't any the first time around. That is why I was so pleasantly surprised by the Davy Jones theme.

And now, I'm totally taking aback by the new themes in this movie. I really didn't expect it to be anything like that. But that's maybe because I never expected the movie to be so dark/sad either. But it all makes sence now why there wasn't a love theme in the first or second movie: because neither one of them was so romantic as At World's End was. Will and Elizabeth's storyline comes to a conclusion here, and in a way that reminds me of the old classic movies. And Hans Zimmer accompanied there love story in this movie with a kind of music that just wouldn't have been appropriate in the other two movies: the kind of melancholic, romantic music that you just don't hear often anymore.

I'm sorry for my rambling, I just wanted to share my thoughts on this. What I'm trying to say here is that I like the soundtrack. :shiny:

It's turning into one of my all time favorite soundtracks too. I love how in At Wit's End the locket theme goes into Will & Elizabeth's theme. Heartbreaking. Up is Down is so fun. And Parlay is just cool. B) Though I don't like how some of the music is edited together. They spliced Jack's arrival on the Pearl (in DJ's locker) into Singapore and reversed The Wedding with Becket’s demise in I Don't Think Now's the Best Time. But I fixed those myself and made my own in order copy. I do wish it included the music from when the Dutchman crew is walking towards Will with the empty chest,. I don't think it's on the CD anywhere, is it?

I just got the soundtrack a few days ago and I can't stop listening to it. I simply can't get enough - especially of One Day and I Don't Think Now is the Best Time. Those two songs bring back the most memories for me from the film and make me long to get back to the theater, which I'm planning to do in a few more days.

I love all 3 soundtracks, but this is definitely my favorite of the 3. I've downloaded it onto my MP3 player too so I can listen while I'm on the treadmill. :shiny:

I am with you Les, everything you said here is exactly how I feel about the soundtrack from AWE. These two songs really get me every time I listen to them and I can see the scenes playing out in my mind as I am listening to the songs. :throb::cry: And like you I can't stop listening to it.

  • 2 weeks later...

I just finished listening to the soundtrack a few hours ago. Turned off the lights, lit some candles, and just listened to it straight through. Wow! The whole thing is amazing, but I absolutely love One Day and Drink Up Me Hearties! One Day makes me swoon. I just see Will's whole story, from beginning to end, listening to that one track.

Kim- I was picturing the scenes from the movie too while listening.

I found that I was having a true emotional response to this music, just one of the many reasons I love music. It can transport you, uplift you, make you cry, make you laugh. I think all three of the Pirates soundtracks are among the best ever. I also love the Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings soundtracks.

Now I want to see the movie again :pirate: !

Have a wonderful week everyone!

I'm another one who can't get enough of this soundtrack. I have a copy in the car, and also listen to it in the house many times during the day. Even my African Grey parrot loves it: he bops along to 'Up is Down'.

I have found, though, that even when I don't have it playing on a stereo, it's playing in my head. I don't mind, really.

I need to go see it for the sixth time sometime this week.

I've listened to the soundtrack so many times. I love all of the songs. It's on my iPod too. :D I'm also going to celebrate now that I've finished the most USELESS course I had to take as a teacher. 36 hours of watching paint dry on DVD. :bat:

So, I will need to release some stress this week. Give you three guess what film I'm going to see? And the first 2 :pirate: s don't count.

Beth37, your parrot loves it? :lmao: What a clever bird!

I don´t think, I´ve listened to any other soundtrack so often. I play it when I´m cooking, cleaning, ironing or just having a quite moment for myself. It is almost allways with me, even if I don´t have it in the player. Just can´t get rid of it. (And don´t want to  ) I hope, Hans Zimmer will get the Academy Award for this one, he really deserves it!
