POTC: AWE Books

Recommended Posts

It's begun. Disney has books available for pre-order through Amazon.com. Here are the three that I've found so far.

Bring Me That Horizon: Pirates of the Caribbean - The Making of the Swashbuckling Movie Trilogy (Paperback) is due for release on June 1, 2007.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (Paperback) comes out on May 1, 2007. This looks like a novelization like the one for Dead Man's Chest.

Pirates of the Caribbean Visual Guide (Hardcover) will be released on April 9, 2007.

Please remember to use the Shop link just under the banner if you do pre-order these from Amazon. I do all of my ordering from Amazon through here so that all my purchases send some money back to ka-Bloom.

Indeed. There's actually quite a few kiddie books, but I just couldn't post 'em all. The one that caught my eye was one with Sao Feng on the cover called Pirates of the Caribbean - At World's End: Singapore!

ETA: Thanks for those, Sunstar! More yummy cover pictures.

Those are Children's Books! The Force of Will looks absolutely gorgeous, I just might buy it for myself. :shiny::hott: It looks like my Godson is going to have a Pirates birthday this year. The book on Jack I just might get that for him as well.

Thank you Sunstar for finding those.

The movie tie-in book POTC:AWE by TT Sutherland (Disney 2007 $4.99) is #8 on the NY Times Children's Paperback list after only 1 week of release. :2thumbs: Congratulations to all those who purchased this book for their 9-12 year olds! *cough*

I think it's the second one that Faye found back on page one. It was released on May 1.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (Paperback) comes out on May 1, 2007. This looks like a novelization like the one for Dead Man's Chest.

The two books that were to be released on June 1st, Bring Me That Horizon, and The Art of Pirates of the Caribbean will now be released tomorrow (May 22). Don't forget to order them through ka-Bloom's shop link so some of the money ends up back here in ka-Bloom's coffers (Click on BOOTY Shop, and then the HOME tab on the left to link to Amazon).

I found this neat article on BusinessWire.

Additionally, the original Jack Sparrow chapter book series based on the teenage Jack Sparrow - which has launched New York Times and USA Today best selling titles - will continue to grow into a 12 book program.

The Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest Junior Novel was a #1 New York Times best seller and remained on the list for 15 weeks. Pirates of the Caribbean titles have appeared on best-seller lists in the UK and France, and within the next year, over 60 different Pirates of the Caribbean titles will be available globally.

I ordered mine Monday from Amazon, and it just came yesterday! It is a gorgeous book, with lots of neat pictures, some of which we haven't seen before. I haven't read the text yet, just looked at all the pictures last night. It's a firm cover, not really paperback, but not hardcover either. The pages are very thick paper, so it still is a pretty heavy book. I love mine, and do highly recommend it!

Thank you for letting me know, CaliMom. I figured it was probably in line with the KoH one. I just haven't gone into a bookstore this week to find out what it all entailed. Last year's PoTC Visual Guide was a joke!

I agree about last year's visual guide. This year's version is just last year's with a few pages added. Very disappointing, but Bring Me That Horizon will more than satisfy you, I think. I got it at a great price on Amazon, and was surprised to have it arrive in 3 days, even though I chose the Super Saver shipping. I ordered it together with the soundtrack, which I've been enjoying all day while waiting to see the movie tonight.

I'll be looking forward to picking up a copy based upon your recommendation. It took me a couple of listens before the soundtrack got under my skin. I love it now.

I wonder how long it might take for Disney to sign off on extended universe novelizations like George Lucas did for Star Wars? I read quite a few of the Star Wars series about a decade ago. It was a great way to keep the characters alive.

I picked up a book at Borders yesterday. Pirates of the Caribbean Collectors Edition. It's a small hardcover book that has the 3 novelizations - with endings. I hadn't gotten any of them separately so this was perfect for me. It's put out by Borders so I don't know if it's exclusive, or if other chains have similar versions. It will be a fun read sometime.

I'm thinking of getting "Bring me that horizon". From what I've heard its a great book. Plus I love that quote, so it's gotta be good, right? Computer says 'no'.

Still need to decide wether to go for ebay or amazon. Amazon usually charges a lot of shipping to Norway though, so I'll probably go for ebay.

I'll post a review when my copy arrives!

I just got "Bring On That Horizon" from Amazon today and what a beautiful book and a great tribute to a great trilogy! The pictures of Will/Orlando are all gorgeous and they included that one with Will walking through the surf in DMC! :hott: They also have a very nice profile and photos on Orlando and there was some very nice things said about him by Johnny, Jerry & Gore.

So I am very happy I got this. :)
