Welshwoman
Wish I could help you, mames, but there's no Toys 'R Us in my town. Kit-Kat, thanks for the information. I see a trip to Wal-Mart in my future. I do need new pjs. Thanks to a dear friend, I am the happy recipient of the large Will Turner figure, with pirate cutlass. He's beautiful. ponycobbler
I know we talked about the cereal stuff before, but I saw Will on something a week ago, and yesterday I found it again. It's the big (BIG) box of Frosted Flakes. Yep, I'll take Orlando in the big hat over Tony the Tiger anytime. Hey, we hadn't had any new stuff in a day or two! I'm just doin' my part. Purple Pj's comin' up!
Beth37
Believe it or not, I found more merchandise in Walmart! There are kiddie play sets (6 and up), one of a skull with toys inside, one I didn't see but the tag was there saying it was Jack's Compass and a big one that was the wheel with Will, Jack and Norrington on it. The guys look like Lego dolls, really cute. If I have a spare $17, it's mine! Hey, I had to do something while waiting for midnight when I could get the LOTR DVD's. :paperbag: Beth
mames71
Our Wal-Mart never had any Pirate stuff, only Cars and Superman. It's nice to see that there are still more goodies out there!
mames71
I got my Flying Dutchman! Hooray for Beth37! :cheer: Ka-Bloomies are the best! Now I just need to take a picture of it with "special" accessories!
serendipity
I was at Walmart Sunday morning and found a whole new shipment of POTC DMC action figures. Well, soft touch and gutter maid that I am, I had to buy something. [Jack Sparrow voice]I've got Wll in a c-a-g-e, I've got Will in a c-a-g-e[/Jack Sparrow voice off]. Now I ask who among you could pass that up? They had the wheel with Will and Norrington, Jack and Davy Jones in sword fight, Jack in an exploding boat, Pintel and the other pirate, sorry can't spell his name, in a boat with the dog, and lots more I can't recall right now. Disney's really merchandising the heck out of this one.
Welshwoman
Will in a cage, huh? Oh dear, and I thought I was finished buying DMC goodies. I may have to make a trip to our local Wal-Mart. Thanks, serendipity, for the heads up. Barbara
lonely_princess
Yesterday my parents bought me a gift, because I finished working in hospital (since I'm a medical student I had to work there for four weeks during my holidays, but we don't get paid, in fact we don't even get free lunch ). I was extremely curious when I opened the package, and guess what was in there? The Jack Sparrow Head Knocker figure! :lmao: They came across it when they went shopping and thought that it was so funny that they had to get it for me. I had seen it before in a Disney Store in London, but frankly I considered it as extremely ugly and unnecessary (though funny indeed). I'd never have bought it for myself, but it's such a sweet gesture of my parents!! Well, now it's standing on my computer desk, right next to the screen, looking at me with its jiggling head. I usually don't buy a lot of merchandise, but by now I alredy own quite a PotC collection. Things just started to pile up, even though I never intended to "collect" them. The most precious piece is one I got for free, though (I saw it at an DMC movie clubbing and then I was begging for it for a whole week). It's a DMC Will Turner banner (only his face) and it's about three meters long. My rooms are not high enough to hang it on the wall, but it's a comforting pleasure to own it. I just had to share this story. I hope this is the right place for it.
Beth37
This isn't exactly merchandise, because you can't buy it, but if anyone has a Day by Day Calendar store near you, they have a large (42") poster of Will and Jack as a display. As I'm a regular pest customer of my local store, they put my name on it and I should be getting it next year when they close the store. :cheer: From what I understand, the stores let customers have displays if they ask nicely. Day by Day is the calendar store affilliated with Waldenbooks and Borders. Beth
Kim
I did search through the topic to see if this was mentioned before, but I couldn't find it. Well anyways. Kellogg's has brought out new cereal boxes for all their brands with pictures of Captain Jack, Will and Elizabeth on them. The Rice Krispies Cereal has Will Turner on that one. My Mom saw them this morning while grocery shopping and she told me the one with Orlando looks great! She told me she hasn't seen them before and she usually goes every day, so if they were there before she would have noticed them. Kim
sagebutterspanky
My partner supplied me a good laugh by buying the DMC Eggo waffles and placing the bright yellow box on eye-level display in the freezer. When I went in for ice cubes it was, "Hello, there's Jack Sparrow promoting Eggos in my freezer! Yikes!" We don't even eat the things but the box is great. Spanky PS: Kim, it sounds like we need those Rice Krispies in our house!
Welshwoman
I saw the DMC Eggos and was very tempted. I don't usually buy frozen waffles, but I think I'll spring for them if they're still around next time I go shopping. One can never have too much Captain Jack! McJules
Well in my house we dine on waffles and rice krispies. We've just about finished the cereal.we made rice krispie treats for everyone we knew. I like opening the cabinet and seeing Will. And in the freezer we are on our 3rd box of Cap'n Jack. Kim
I just had one of the Eggo Waffles yesterday and I love them. So far I had the Treasure Chest and the Black Pearl. I haven't had the medallion yet. The next time I go to the store, I just might get me those Rice Krispies. And I love the Rice Krispies Treats! sagebutterspanky
Ooo, yes, everyone loves Rice Krispie treats. Now there's the best reason for buying boxes of cereal. Of course the art work rules! Later this morning we shall dine on Eggos. Word up. Come Monday, after work it's off to the store. :cheer: Spanky
KLSMom
My partner supplied me a good laugh by buying the DMC Eggo waffles and placing the bright yellow box on eye-level display in the freezer. When I went in for ice cubes it was, "Hello, there's Jack Sparrow promoting Eggos in my freezer! Yikes!"So that's where he went after the Kraken got him? Spanky, you supplied me a good laugh, and I'll be looking for the Captain on my next trip to the grocery store. The Will Turner Lunchables are very popular in our house. jennifer
I don't know if this has been posted yet, but Wal*Mart has Pirates of the Caribbean wrapping paper for $3.00. :cheer:
McJules
Jennifer, thanks for the information on the wrapping paper. That'll make yet another item I have to buy.
Anar
I just got back from Super Target where I bought a Pirate Clash Hatchet Hurling Will Turner. I don't know if that has been posted before, but I'll give a quick description. Will's body is the same as Sword Thrusting Will, but this one comes with that brown coat we are all so fond of. He also has his hair down, rather than pulled back like Sword Will. He does come with a sword, but he also has a hatchet and hatchet hurling action. On the back it shows Pick-Axe slashing Maccus, and Quick Draw Jack Sparrow. (With his pistol.) Anar
sagebutterspanky
Woof, I did not realize how heavily Kellogg's in the US bought into the POTC concept. Unfortunately the Rice Krispies in my area (five stores checked to date) have no Will Turner pics. But I did find a POTC cereal. Jack Sparrow rules the box. Quite nice. My partner almost grabbed the box before I did. For once we agreed on an extremely silly POTC purchase! We won't eat the stuff, but the box art is damned pretty. McJules
Anar, thanks for the info. Pirate Clash Hatchet Hurling Will Turner sounds hot nice! I'll have to see if I can locate him some place. Target isn't all that super in my neck of the woods or all that close. Spanky, if you really need a box with Will let me know. My store still has them. The image is from COTBP and he's in the hat.
mames71
Anar, thanks for the heads up on the new Will figurine. We don't have a Super Target here (actually, our Target has been pretty sparse with POTC stuff), but the next time I'm there, I'll check it out. Do you suppose Disney will continue selling POTC merchandise through Christmas? If so, my list this year will be easy to make!
Kit-Kat
Anar, thanks for the info on the new Will figurine. I haven't been to Target in a while, I must go check out the Toys section when I go. ~Kit-Kat~
Sherwood
Don't forget that Hallmark is debuting their musical Jack Sparrow and dog with the keys ornament this weekend. You might want to check out your local store now, though, because the one just down the way from me had them out early. The ornament is $16.95 US. When you press the button, it plays "Yo-Ho, Yo-Ho a Pirate's Life for Me." Honestly, I think I am just leaving mine out year round.right next to my POTC ride-themed snow globe.
mames71
I've got my name on the list for the Hallmark ornament. Early word this summer was that it was worth buying. I, too, will probably leave it out with my other Pirate stuff. Thanks for the reminder, Sherwood.
