Kit-Kat
That is really sweet what you did Amanda with that little girl. I wish someone would've done that for me when I was 7 and got my ears pierced. Anyways, Hot Topic here had the bookbag, shirts, and Jack balnket but that was it. NO sweatshirts or pens or school supllies yet there, but plenty of school supplies at Target and Wal-Mart. ~Kit-Kat~
mames71
I just got back from Big Dogs (we have an outlet store in town) and bought a "Big Dogs of the Caribbean" t-shirt. The dog emblem is the skull and underneath it says "Dead dogs wag no tails". I got the last adult small/medium, but when I got it home, I found out that the design is on the back. They had kids' shirts (that I believe may have the design on the front), but I'm not sure I'd even fit into a kid's large. I may go back tomorrow and see. Does anybody here mind if their t-shirt designs are on the back? I think mine are all on the front.
Anar
I really have nothing to add here. But I had to tell mames71, I don't like designs on the back of my shirts. You can't see the decoration because of my hair. :bat: I know, I know, pull my hair back or cut it off. Now back to your regular merchandise updates. Maethoriel
I was at a local Medieval Faire today. The theme for the weekend was Pirates and so there were many pirate related things going on all over. There was one booth that I went into that had all sorts of Pirate things, flags, buttons, ect. and a whole bunch of things from Pirates of the Caribbean. Many of the books and action figures that have been mentioned. But what made my jaw drop was the Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest Monopoly Board Game. Just like with Lord of the Rings and many other versions, all the well known properties have been changed into movie related places from both the first and second movies. Railroads have become ships, and hotels have been renamed harbors. The playing pieces include Jack the Monkey, the Dog with the Keys, Jack's Compass, a Black Pearl Cannon, Davy Jones' Chest, and a Pirate Skull. And the money has comic book like images of characters printed on them (Will's smoldering likeness graces the $100.) This game looks so neat that I just had to jump in here and share it with my fellow ka-Bloomies. I also went online and found that Amazon sells the game in their online shop, so I have provided the link to it for all of you who don't just stumble across it somehow. Amazon.com Happy pillaging mates!
Noggz
Cool, thanks Maethoriel. I'd heared about this, but they didn't have it at my 'Toys R Us'. But they did have the 'Pirates of the Caribbean Chess set'! Now that is cool! I'm getting that for christmas, and I'm hoping to get the monopoly, if I can find it! Kim
Thanks Maethoriel for letting know about the Monopoly game. I think I will put that down on my Birthday wish list. By the way, has anyone heard about a POTC: DMC Calendar for 2007 coming out? I was just wondering because I have POTC: COBP Calendar for 2006 and I am hoping they come out with one for Pirates 2. I can just imagine what pictures they will choose for it. Thank you Kim
Welshwoman
I will be close to a Target next week when I'm at mum's house. I do believe I'll take a few minutes to check out what they might have in the way of Pirates paraphernalia. After all, a girl lady old woman can't be too well supplied. Sunstar
By the way, has anyone heard about a POTC: DMC Calendar for 2007 coming out? Kim, the Official POTC: DMC 2007 Calendar should be available by September and can be pre-ordered at Amazon.co.uk or Forbidden Planet.com. I haven't seen a picture of the back cover yet. This sixteen-month calendar is available now from Megacalendars.com. I've seen two different back covers on eBay, one has two pictures from COTBP and the other has twelve DMC pictures. Kim
Thank you Sunstar! Another item to put on my Birthday list. I love the one for August on the COBP 2006 calendar. Its the one where Jack is standing behind Will while being surrounded by the swords of the soldiers. Kim
mames71
Thanks for the info about the calendars, Sunstar. I couldn't decide last year what to get, so I went with Orlando for the second year in a row. I think I'll go with a POTC one for 2007. I ended up going back to Big Dogs and bought a kid's XL that has the design on the front. It's a neat shirt. They also had glow in the dark ones. JediJill
This sixteen-month calendar is available now from Megacalendars.com. I've seen two different back covers on eBay, one has two pictures from COTBP and the other has twelve DMC pictures. I just received this calendar today. It's quite nice. But by all means, DO NOT order the 2007 Orlando calendar that MegaCalendars is offering. It is horrible. They used some nice pictures, but they are blown up so much that they appear all pixelated, and blurry. I'm very disappointed. It states that it was printed in the EU. Since the 2006 calendar I have was made here, I'm hoping for another, better version.
nuriko
Thank you Maethoriel. I hope I can buy one set.
Kit-Kat
I will keep an eye out for the calendars by the time NOvember comes around. We have little carts in the mall that sell all these great calendars including LOTR, POTC, and Orlando ones that are amazing! So, that will also be added to my xmas list with the POTC monopoly game and much more. Thanks for the info Ladies! by the way Kmart has lots of the back to school POTC stuff including mini notebooks, regular notebooks, floders, pens, etc. So go check that out! ~Kit-Kat~
Welshwoman
I am now close to a Target store (spending a week with mum) so wandered in today and picked up the small Jack Sparrow figure. I have the sword-thrusting Will, and looked at the small figure of Will, but didn't really like it. So I decided on the Cap'n. I have absolutely no will power (no pun intended)! Guest bluey715
I thought someone might have posted this up but I don't think anyone has mentioned it. RiteAid is selling the Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest calendar for 50% off, which came out to be about 4.99 without tax. I already got mine after searching two Riteaids so I don't believe all the Riteaids carry it. And this is the one I have Can't wait til 2007 comes so I can hang this up on my wall. Beth37
I've found a couple of new things in Walmart lately: the 30" long Black Pearl, complete with action figures, and a nifty Jack Sparrow Vs Davy Jones action set for your aquarium. It would take a 30 gallon or larger tank and I just happen to have one set up. Wonder if my fish would like some pirates? I'm sure I could stick a Will Turner in there somewhere. I am afraid to ask what they will think of next? Beth
Anar
I have seen that aquarium set too Beth37. It looks really neat! At Petco they had all of these ships that would go great with it. I don't want to have fish again but we thought about a getting a hermit crab to crawl around Jack and Davy. Then we decided we don't need any more animals around here! The 30" black pearl sounds cool, I'll have to check it out! Thanks! Anar

Great, now you're talking me into yet another pet. And of course every ka-Bloomie needs a hamster named Will to play on a wheel and in one of those balls! Surely they will come out with those soon, no? I THINK I AM LOSING MY MIND. :lmao: Beth
nuriko
I was shopping in a mall and I saw a POTC2 poster so I went to see what they have to sell. They have some accessary like bracelets and something looks like keychains. I was so excited about it because it's not easy to find some merchandises in Taiwan. I love the bracelet the most but it's not cheap to me. So I used my cellphone to took some pictures of those merches. Here they are: (Sorry about the quility.) It looks like a keychain. But I'm not sure. Price unknown. Another keychain and a charm bracelet. The color of the brecelat is between white and silver. And the price is USD 42.31 approximately. And these, I don't know how to call them in English. You can hang them on your cellphone. The price is USD 26.37 approximately. I bought a coppery charm bracelet in the end. I'll take some pictures of it later. ========== OK. Here are the pictures.
AllieCat
Wow that bracelet is really cool, nuriko!! Ok I found the Will puzzle at Games by James yesterday and had to get it. Target has the Jack one but I never saw the Will one till yesterday. I staid up till almost 2am this morning putting it together. It's 300 peices and about 15 inches by 21 inches. My dad asked me waht in the world I was doing. I explained. He laughed then asked me if I was going to mount it. The puzzle that is. Yes at the time I was like What? But yes I think I will mount the puzzle on cardboard or something!

mames71
Okay, I need some help from my fellow Pirate/toy fans. At Toys R Us, they had micro-sized ships from DMC. I have the Black Pearl. Now I want the Flying Dutchman. My Toys R Us has been sold out of them for weeks, and I haven't been able to get the ship I want. Is it possible for any of y'all to check your local store and see if they have a Flying Dutchman? It's about six inches long and comes with three very tiny figurines. The price is $9.99. I will fully reimburse you for any costs. Thanks!

Kit-Kat
I have quick POTC clothing news updates. Kmart has tee shirts in the womens department that say "I *picture of skull & cross bones* Pirates" and the little POTC logo with the ship on the back. Wal-Mart has in Women's pj's POTC pants in purple with the medallion and "pirates of the caribbean" written all over it with matching tank with Will and Jack back to back and pink ones with jack on them with the words "Dead Man's chest" and "pirates of the caribbean" written all over them with the matching pink tank with jack on it with the words "dead man's chest" underneath the picture. The Pj's were about 9$ for the pants and the tanks were about 5$ or a little more and the Kmart tee shirt was about 5-9$. Ok, there is my update on some stuff for you Ladies! ~Kit-Kat~
