McJules
I belong to a collectors society for Master Replicas and I received an email that they are working on some new characters for 2006. Some include such favorites as our own Will Turner, Jack Sparrow and Elizabeth Swann. They also mention Davy Jones. Other than that the email doesn't state much. They aren't definite either. Some of these characters may not make it to the final cut and others may pop up later. I hope it was okay to post this. I've never started a topic before. Annabelle
Master Replicas does good work. I hope they do some varieties of Will Turner. I'd love to have one of him in his uniform, as well as one as the dirty pirate ! Keep us posted if you hear any more news.
serendipity
Maybe they will finally be the ones to capture Orlando in an action figure or replica. I have yet to see one that does him justice.
McJules
serendipity I couldn't agree with you more! I saw the Will Tuner figure at WDW and I couldn't believe it. So NOT pretty! Cayenne
I remember watching a program about the production of LOTR action figures. The artist was explaining that the homlier the face, the easier it is to reproduce. The finer featured chracters were the most difficult. The prettier it was, the harder it was to get it right. I guess that is why Gimli looks like Gimli, and Legolas looks like, well, Gimli's sister. Remember the Graham Norton interview, where Orlando pulls a face so that he looked like the action figure. Orlando said that he hadn't seen the figure before, and Graham quips that evidently the artist hadn't seen Orlando either.
