    Clips Ahoy!
  1. Peter Jackson/WETA have released an exclusive video to The Hollywood Reporter but every time I try to create a hyperlink, my computer freezes up. Here's the link to copy and paste and hopefully the PEFICs can create an easy to use embedded link. The Making of Smaug (2:24) explains a bit of the creative process. No Legolas sightings. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/behind-screen/benedict-cumberbatch-performs-mocap-smaug-682351?utm_source=Sailthru&utm_medium=email&utm_term=hollywoodreporter_therace&utm_campaign=THR%20Race%20Alerts_now_DEmery
  2. I know this is late notice but Orlando Bloom is scheduled to appear on The Entertainers with Byron Allen in the wee hours tonight/tomorrow morning, according to my on air programming. This press junket interview is scheduled on a channel that I do not receive (DirecTv ABCw feed) at 4:07 am CST Saturday February 1, 2014. For other viewing providers check your local listings for time and date. Other guests listed for this 1 hour show are George Clooney, Andy Garcia, Vanessa Hudgens, Leo DiCaprio, Amy Adams, Halle Berry, Ben Stiller, Paula Patton, and Katy Perry if that helps you pinpoint the correct episode. I don't know which film he will be promoting (Zulu perhaps?) but this is a new episode, dated 2014. If someone manages to catch it, please share what is was about.
  3. I didn't see Orlando on any Red Carpet footage (but I admit that I spent much of that time watching the football game) but I did nab his presenting with Zoe Saldana if it's needed. He's looking good as usual.
  4. While looking for a listing in my neck of the woods, some more locales have been confirmed: The chain of Digiplex theaters in the northeast US (Lisbon, CT, Bloomsburg, PA, etc), 3 shows at the Rodgers Theatre in NYC (2/13, 2/15 and 2/16) and at the Cinema Palme D'Or in Palm Desert, CA. No doubt more will be added in the next few weeks. Fingers crossed.
  5. TNT has grabbed the US rights to air The Desolation of Smaug in 2016.
  6. Charitybuzz is auctioning a R&J poster autographed by Orlando Bloom and his leading lady. See it at charitybuzz.com and search for "Orlando Bloom." Bidding is currently ay $245 and will benefit The Climate Reality Project (founded by Al Gore). Bidding ends tomorrow, Wednesday December 11 at 2:35 p.m. EST.
  7. Variety has published their review of the LA premiere showing but sadly I can't get the link to embed or paste the 1300 words of text here. Variety is a subscription site and not available to everyone. In short, there really aren't any spoilers since the book has been read for decades, with bits of The Quest for Erebor from the Unfinished Tales thrown in. Although the "thumbs up/thumbs down" is copyrighted and not used here, if you read the entire review, it adds up to two thumbs up for this "much more exciting and purposeful second chapter." Here's what is said about our pointy-eared bow slinger, Legolas:
  8. I had been wondering how Orlando could be in LA on Monday 12/2 for Jimmy Kimmel Live but that is the same day as the LA premiere of The Desolation of Smaug. It's making more sense now. Does anyone know if Chelsea Lately is pre-taped? In my mind that's the only way I can get Orlando back to NYC for his performances.
  9. Orlando will be making two television appearances next week. It's not certain whether he'll be promoting R&J or The Desolation of Smaug: Monday December 2 - Jimmy Kimmel Live (ABC) Wednesday December 4 - Chelsea Lately (E!) I'm leaning towards Middle Earth rather than Verona since Evangeline Lilly is also hitting the talk shows on 12/2,12/4 and 12/13 while Benedict Cumberbatch is on Kimmel 2/4. Sir Ian is scheduled for Letterman on 12/9 but he could also be promoting his two shows that just opened on Broadway. It could be a typo or there really could be another guy by the name but "Marin Freeman" will be on Jimmy Kimmel 12/3
  10. My on screen program guide pulled up an appearance on Andy Cohen's show on the Bravo channel "Watch What Happens Live!" on Sunday October 13 (11pm/10c) but it's not yet listed on the official show website.
  11. Good Morning America has Orlando Bloom listed as a guest on Tuesday October 8.
  12. Thanks for the shout out! It's short notice and I'm too many hours from home so here's hoping that my long distance programming of my DVR actually works *fingers crossed*. I'm looking forward to seeing the pair together again. Sir Ian is also currently treading the boards on Broadway.
  13. Since GRAVITY is the only Warner Bros. film to be released before THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG, there are rumors at TORn and elsewhere that a third trailer will be attached. All new footage in October.
  14. News out today - because of (officially) 'script issues' (and unofficially the dismal box office numbers of Disney's The Lone Ranger), POTC5 will be delayed past the summer of 2015. The article also mentioned co-star names for the first time: ojStill too early to know of any cameos but at least the project is still moving forward.slowly.
  15. It was announced in both Variety and The Hollywood Reporter tonight that Ben Affleck landed the Batman role in the Man of Steel sequel.
